Songs

We sing and enjoy a lot of songs during our day. As requested by parents, I will post lyrics or links to the songs here. They are in no particular order, so have fun browsing! If you are looking for something specific, use the find feature under the edit tab at the top of your browser. If any of the links aren't working, please let me know so I can fix the problem.

*I did not create the songs listed below and will give reference to their origins when my knowledge allows. If you are concerned about copyright, please let me know and I will delete the song in question.

Bubble Gum by Dr. Jean

Bubble gum, bubble gum
Chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy,
Bubble gum
Bubble gum, bubble gum
Chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy,
Bubble gum
I love it! I love it!
Chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy,
Bubble gum
I love it! I love it!

Chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy, chewy,
Bubble gum

(Repeat a few times getting faster each time you sing it.)

5 Little Ducks

5 little ducks went out to play
Over the hills and far away
When mommy duck said, "Quack, quack, quack."
4 Little Ducks came waddling back

(Repeat, taking away one duck each time until you get to no little ducks . . .)
. . .When mommy duck said, "Quack, quack, quack."
No little ducks came waddling back.

But when daddy duck said, "QUACK, QUACK, QUACK!"
5 little ducks came waddling back.

"5 Ice Cream Cones" (To the tune of 5 Little Ducks)
 - We act out the song using white flannel ice cream cones with an extra scoop in each color that we put over the white when we sing that part.

Five little ice cream cones at the ice cream shop
But no one wanted to buy them with vanilla on top
One little ice cream took some time to think
He mixed in some bubblegum and turned himself pink
Little Suzie(student)came along And took that yummy ice cream home

Four little ice-cream cones at the ice cream shop
But no one wanted to buy them with vanilla on top
Then one little ice-cream knew what he should do
He mixed in some blueberries and turned his flavor to blue
Little __________ came along and took that yummy ice-cream home.

3 little ice creams at the ice cream shop
But no one wanted to buy them with vanilla on top
One little ice cream was a smart little fellow
He mixed in some lemonade and turned himself to yellow.
Little ___________ came along and took that yummy ice cream home.

2 Little Ice Cream cones at the ice-cream shop
But no one wanted to buy them with vanilla on top.
One little ice-cream got an idea in his head
He mixed in some raspberries and turned his color to red.
Little ____________came along and took that yummy ice-cream home.

One little ice-cream at the ice-cream shop
But no one wanted to buy it with vanilla on top
Alone and sad, he really wanted to go,
So he mixed in all the colors and made him rainbow!

"Hand Washing Song"
(Sung to the tune of Are You Sleeping?)
Have students practice washing hands and doing the motion while they sing. Over is on top of the hand, under is washing the palm, in between is washing in between fingers. Make sure not to sing it too fast!

Over, under, over, under
In between, in between.
Over, under, over, under
Now we're clean, now we're clean.

Repeat

"Rain is Falling All Around" by Moiselle Renstrom

Rain is falling all around,
On the housetops, on the ground.
Rain is falling on my nose,
On my head, and hands, and nose.

We changed the words to leaves are falling. You could also do snow is falling, wind is blowing, or sun is shinning.

"Tiny Tim"

I have a tiny turtle, his name is Tiny Tim.
I put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim.
He drank up all the water. (Gulp, gulp, gulp.)
He ate up all the soap. (Um, num, num, num)
And now he's home, sick in bed with bubbles in his throat.
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, POP
(Repeat bubble lyrics.)

"Scat the Cat"
- We sing this song with some cat pictures of different colors. At the end of each verse, we change the color of the cat.

I'm Scat the cat, I'm happy and I'm fat.
If you don't like my color then I'll change it like that. (clap)
(Kids yell out the color of the cat I am holding.)

"Days of the Week"
- Sung to the tune of "Adam's Family"

Days of the week, (clap, clap)
Days of the week, (clap, clap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week, (clap, clap)
There's Sunday and there's Monday.
There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday.
There's Thursday and there's Friday and then there's Saturday.

Days of the week, (clap, clap)
Days of the week, (clap, clap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week, (clap, clap)

"Peanut Song" ( I actually don't know the real title of this song)

A peanut sat on a railroad track.
His heart was all a flutter.
A choo choo train came down the track
Choo Choo
Peanut butter!

"The Popcorn Song" by Laura Chipman
(Sung to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")

I'm a little popcorn small and round.
Stick me in oil and spin me around.
When I get all steamed up hear me pop!
Then pour some butter and salt on top.

"We are the Dinosaurs"
By: Laurie Berkner Band

"Dinosaur Song"

(Sung to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It)
There are dinosaurs stomping all around.
There are dinosaurs stomping all around.
There are dinosaurs around, they are stomping all around.
There are dinosaurs stomping all around.

*You can replace stomping with other words like flying, swimming, roaring, etc.

By: Sesame Street

"5 Little Monkeys"

5 little monkeys swinging from a tree
Teasing Mr. Alligator, can't catch me, no you can't catch me.
Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be
And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!

Repeat with 4 monkeys and taking away one monkey with each repeated verse.

"Shake Your Sillies Out"

We're gonna shake, shake, shake our sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
And wiggle our waggles away!

We're gonna clap, clap, clap our crazies out,
Clap, clap, clap our crazies out,
Clap, clap, clap our crazies out,
And wiggle our waggles away!

We're gonna jump, jump, jump our jiggles out,
Jump, jump, jump our jiggles out,
Jump, jump, jump our jiggles out,
And wiggle our waggles away!

We're gonna stretch, stretch, stretch our sleepies out,
Stretch, stretch, stretch our sleepies out,
Stretch, stretch, stretch our sleepies out,
And wiggle my waggles away!
