H is for Hide

 Letter H's infiltrated our classroom and hid all over the place hoping to join in the fun. We rounded up those H's and sorted them into capital and lower case letters.

Then the kids infiltrated my house and found their own places to hide for one awesome game of hide and seek. It's the one day a year where they get to check out the upstairs rooms. 

Graduation 2012

This was our first graduation at Chipman's Corner and it was a lot of fun. Thank you to all the parents and kids for an amazing year. I sure am going to miss you all!

(I'm going to apologize right now that I don't know what setting I had my camera on, but I am so sorry for the lighting in all these pictures, it is atrocious.Anyway . . .)

We did a short program where the kids showed what we learned and did a music performance for their moms and dads. Miss Diana has worked hard all year to teach the kids about notes and rhythms and I was blown away by how well they did showing what they knew.  Then we passed out diplomas, the books the kids had made, and took class pictures.

One of our moms made these awesome hats for the graduates and future graduates. I think she said she found the tutorial on pinterest. Thank you Cori!

 Here are the decorations I made for the event. It was a lot of fun putting it all together. The hanging mobiles were my favorite, they looked so much fun turning around above the table. Although, I had to use a needle to make the balloon banner and I don't know whose bright idea it was to make something using a needle and balloons. : )

 

New Friends

We have some new friends that will be joining us at school this year. : )

This fun new tank will now be part of our classroom to observe and learn about fish.

R is for Riding, Running, & Relays

I told the kids that there would be a surprise for them when they got back from spring break. And SURPRISE! We added a bike track to our backyard. We broke it in with a lot of fun activities like riding our scooters and bikes, running around the track, and doing some relay races. I am excited for a lot more fun as the kids enjoy this addition during recess time!

The New Decor

Chipman's corner has gotten a partial makeover. Here are a few pictures of part of the facility. A big thank you to my mom who made the fun alphabet quilt that has been the start of a lot of fun conversations.
